The Journal does not in general entertain previously published articles, papers published concurrently in other journals, or those that have appeared in internet sites. The Journal allows re-publications of its articles elsewhere if prior permission is obtained from the author of the article and the Editorial Board of SLJH. The Editorial Board reserves the right to revise the style, format, spelling and grammar in articles accepted for publication without notifying contributors.
All views, opinions and conclusions expressed in the published articles are those of the authors of the articles and not necessarily those of the Editorial Board. Since the Editorial Board is unable to return diskettes, CDs and manuscripts, those submitting articles for consideration should keep copies.
The text should be typed in MS Word, double-spaced throughout and with a minimum of 3cm for left and right hand margins and 5cm at head and foot. The font should be Times New Roman with standard 12 point. The paper should be 6000-7000 words.
The text should be accompanied by a 250-word abstract and key words (3-5) on a separate page after the cover page.
Any acknowledgements should appear at the end of your article prior to any notes and your references.
Authors are responsible for obtaining permission from copyright holders for reproducing any illustrations, tables, figures or lengthy quotations previously published elsewhere.
The Sri Lanka Journal of the Humanities has decided to adopt the MLA reference style in order to ensure consistency among published articles considering that it accepts papers from a variety of disciplines. Authors who do not habitually use MLA are free to await notification of acceptance from the Journal before converting the reference style of their papers to MLA. Only those references mentioned in the text need be listed under References.

E-Prints and Complimentary Copies
SLJH provides the corresponding author with a complimentary copy of the print issue in which the article appears. Upon request, the editors will provide authors with an e-copy of their papers.
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
